Federation of World Bunts Associations was started at Mangalore under the Chairmanship of Sri.P.Jayaram Shetty with 15 affiliated member Sanghas on August 30, 1987. The Federation has been striving to realize the following aims and objectives namely, to form new Sanghas and to co-ordinate activities of member Sanghas to promote better understanding, fellowship, unity and to foster, encourage and exchange of useful information, to organize Bunts under one umbrella, to promote educational, social, agricultural and cultural life of members and to establish institutions and trusts for the welfare of the community, to launch meaningful campaign to eradicate the evil practices prevailing in Bunts community etc,.
